Whether you need a standard, modified-standard, or a completely new design, Cotta is ready to drive technology for you.
Cotta maintains a 2,000+ existing drivetrain design library. Our experienced engineers and craftsmen can take virtually any new gearbox application from concept to delivery at our Wisconsin production facility. We can also re-engineer retrofit Cotta designs into applications where competitors’ products are no longer supported, like Fabco, Durst, and Funk.
For more than a century, Cotta has been a leader and driving force in gearbox technology.
Back in 1906, engineer Charles Cotta introduced his breakthrough constant-mesh shifting transmissions, and soon became a key supplier to the automobile and truck industries.
In the 1940’s, Cotta shifted our focus to industrial products and off-highway / construction specialty vehicles and, in 1960, we added a line of high-speed transmissions. Over the past 50 years, Cotta has diversified into offering other products including speed reducers, speed increasers, hydraulic pump drives and split-shaft PTO’s. Bringing us to today, as Cotta has become the premier, trusted and leading manufacturer of top-quality, precision-engineered transmission products for a wide range of specialized mobile and stationary applications, such as vocational trucks, defense, off-highway, aerospace, heavy industry, well-drilling, mining, marine and more.
Located in a 63,000 square-foot facility in Beloit, Wisconsin, home to our recently-upgraded testing lab, Cotta designs and engineers in accordance with the American Gear Manufacturers Association to ensure our quality – which is monitored systematically, and comprehensively focused on starting at the source to support our “zero defect” policy.
